Spring 2013 Housing Assignments FAQs

How was my Spring 2013 room assignment made?

Your room assignment was made based on:

  • The date your Spring 2013 housing application was submitted online;
  • The information you provided on your application (i.e., your residence hall/room-style choices).
How do I accept my assignment and complete my Spring 2013 VCU Housing Contract?
  • Instructions for that process will be included in your electronic Room Assignment Notification letter, which will be sent to you via your VCU email.
  • If you do not electronically sign your VCU Housing Contract within that 5-day period, your assignment will be cancelled and your room will be offered to another student.
  • Be sure to carefully review your VCU Housing 2012-2013 Housing Contract Terms & Conditions for detailed information regarding the room assignment/housing contract cancellation policy and other contractual issues.
Why did I not receive my choice of residence halls?
  • Assignments are based on your preferred room style and availability.
My friend and I wanted to room together, but we were not assigned to the same space. What happened?
  • As noted in the Housing Application FAQs, the roommate preference option was not available for the Spring 2013 semester due to the limited number of room openings.
May I request a room change before arriving on campus?
  • Our first priority will be the assignment of those cancelled spaces to any students who have not yet received Spring housing accommodations.
  • Room changes are allowed after the official class registration add/drop period has ended.  Room change requests must be approved by the student’s residence Hall Director.
