Update Feb. 6, 2012: Upperclassman undergraduate students and freshmen currently assigned to single rooms in Bear, Warner, Rudd or McRae halls will be allowed to participate in the Same Room Sign Up process. (See Same Room Sign-Up section, below.)
The Fall 2012 - Spring 2013 housing application processes will begin Thursday, January 19, 2012. Check this Web page and your VCU student email account on a regular basis for any updates to the information noted below. Students are also urged to review the Frequently Asked Questions for details regarding the 2012-13 room sign-up processes.
The Fall 2012-Spring 2013 VCU Housing room sign-up process takes place in THREE (3) steps. Current on-campus students wishing to live in University housing again for the 2012-13 school year must complete each step below in order to obtain a room assignment.
Step #1: Submit an electronic 2012-13 housing application online via the Residential Gateway from Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 (beginning at 10 a.m.) thru Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 (ending at 6 p.m.). Please note this change in dates! The date you submit an application has no effect on the process. As long as your application is submitted by Jan. 29, 2012, you will be able to participate in a 2012-13 room sign-up process.
Step #2: Participate in one of the following Room Sign-Up processes:
Same Room Sign-Up period: Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 (beginning at 10 a.m.) – Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 (ending at 4 p.m.)
If you currently live in Ackell, Broad & Belvidere, or Cary & Belvidere, you may go online and re-sign for your EXACT same room. If you are a graduate/allied health care professional student or an upperclassmen undergraduate or freshman student currently assigned to a single room in the MCV Low Rise Halls, you may go online to re-sign for your EXACT SAME room. You must have submitted a 2012-13 housing application online by Jan. 27, 2012 in order to participate. If you wish to change rooms for 2012-13, you must participate in the Roommate Pull-In process or the Housing Lottery process (refer to the Frequently Asked Questions for details).
Roommate Pull-In Day: Monday, February 6, 2012 from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. If you live in Ackell, Broad & Belvidere, or Cary & Belvidere and signed up for your same room, you may "pull in" ONE student and assign him/her to any room still available within your own apartment for 2012-13. The roommate pulled in must have submitted a 2012-13 housing application online by Jan. 27, 2012, and must be a current on-campus resident.
